Recognition of Prior Learning

What is recognition of prior learning?

Recognition of prior learning is available for those with industry experience. RPL is all about the skills and knowledge you've collected through your professional experience. If you qualify for RPL, this means you are provided with an opportunity to have the skills and knowledge you have developed outside the formal education system assessed and valued against qualifications frameworks.

Even if you are applying for RPL and qualify for this, we still provide all the learning material, and you are able to attend the workshops. We recommend you take advantage of this and further your education.

Who is eligible?

Anyone with industry experience can apply for RPL. Common professionals can include;

  • Commercial or Residential Bankers
  • Broker Support Officers (also known as Customer Service Managers)
  • Business Development Managers
  • Operations Managers

What is the process?

Once you enquire about RPL and complete the questionnaire. The next steps are:

  • An Entry Education trainer will set up a call with you to gather information and begin the assessment of eligibility.
  • If the trainer believes you are eligible, you will be asked to provide evidence of your experience, which will include requests for documentation, such as case studies, resumes and other examples of your experience.
  • The trainer will assess this evidence of your experience and may request additional documentation or evidence.
  • The trainer will then mark you against the unit of competency requirements.
  • You will then be contacted to confirm the remaining requirements for receiving a formal qualification.

Please note even if you qualify for RPL, you may still need to attend some workshops and complete some assessments. You will only pass the units that you are able to prove you have completed within your case studies.

How can I apply?

RPL applications will be handled by Entry Education. For further inquiries, please contact them on 1300 799 447.
